Baskervilles Squad Gymnastics

From our annual Club Competition to National Artistic Competitions, we believe giving children the opportunity to compete teaches them key life skills such as determination, resilience and empathy. Competitive training programmes are specifically designed for each group in order to prepare them for competitions that take place throughout the year. As well as competitions, gymnasts are involved in annual displays and trips.

Our dedicated and experienced Coaches invite gymnasts to join our competitive pathways from our School-Aged gymnastics classes. Baskervilles has a variety of competitive Girls and Boys training pathways:

Intermediate Pathway

  • The aim is to learn new skills with an emphasis on stretch, style and presentation.

  • Classes run during term-time and break during the holidays.

  • Gymnasts are invited to take part in our Spring and Autumn Rising Stars Competitions.

Advanced Pathway

  • The aim is to work towards high level tumbling and vault skills. Gymnasts also practice skills on beam and bars.

  • Gymnasts are committed to training twice a week during term time and the holidays.

  • Gymnasts take part in the Spring and Autumn Rising Stars Competitions, showcasing their skills on Floor, Vault, and Trampette, while boys also compete on Bars.

Squad Pathway

  • Gymnasts in this pathway must show a high level of strength, flexibility and presentation.

  • Gymnasts are committed to training up to 12 hours per week during term time and the holidays.

  • Gymnasts take part in up to 7 competitions per year in various venues.

  • Gymnasts train and compete across all women's artistic apparatus, including Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor.

We proudly affiliate our competitive gymnasts with the Independent Gymnastics Association (IGA) “where passion meets purpose in fostering a thriving gymnastics community”. IGA is a dynamic association dedicated to empowering gymnasts of all ages and abilities. They share the belief that gymnastics should be enjoyable above all else.

Squad Testimonials

“Ambrose has been attending Baskervilles since preschool and has thoroughly enjoyed every moment. Currently in the senior boys squad he achieved Gold on floor at the IGA National Championships recently and probably one of his proudest moments was being awarded Gymnast of the Year 2024. Throughout his journey Baskervilles has supported him and encouraged him to develop as a gymnast and gym coach. The team are fantastic role models modelling discipline and hard work, always with a smile and a laugh and I am delighted Ambrose is becoming a role model for the younger boys too.”

“My daughter joined Baskervilles 18 months ago and has never looked back, she absolutely loves it. As a parent I can’t fault them. The staff from the coaches to admin team are always so positive and engaged. Ophelia has gone from strength to strength, her confidence is growing and she is pushed and taught in such a positive way. Recently she has joined the squad and the team have been nothing but supportive of her.”

July 2025

“Our daughter Isabelle, has been attending regularly now for 15 years, right from baby gym up to the senior squad. We have all had the most amazing experience at every stage of her progression and the coaches and staff have helped tremendously in providing a place where she can become the outstanding person she is.

She has also had the opportunity to start her coaching journey. From demonstrating skills to assisting classes, Baskervilles has helped her progress and become a better coach so that she is now able to show other gymnasts what they can achieve within the time they spend there.

More than anything else though, is the love that the whole Baskervilles team put into making the place warm, inviting, fun and exciting for all.

For us personally, we cannot thank them enough, as we are so lucky to have had one hell of an experience!”

December 2025

“Our son is part of the Junior Advanced Boys and absolutely loves training with Kieran. He’s a fun, caring coach who really understands how to get the best out of the boys. He’s great at helping our son work on his weaknesses while also encouraging his strengths, and he always comes out of his sessions motivated and excited to improve.”
