School-Aged Gymnastics


Whether your child is new to gymnastics or wants to train to competition standard, we have the equipment and expertise to help them achieve their goals whilst also having fun and keeping fit.

Our gymnasium is one of the best equipped in the country and is used for local, county and regional competitions. Our coaches are fully qualified through British Gymnastics and carefully programme courses to enable your child to learn at the right pace for their age and ability.

Our aim is to offer your child a fun environment in which to develop key life skills such as co-ordination, strength, confidence and teamwork.

Our School-Aged Gymnastics Classes follow a syllabus incorporating British Gymnastics Awards standards on floor and vault, plus our own in-house scheme including trampoline, bar, beam, vaults etc.

This class timetable for Englishcombe Court applies during term time only. Check our Holiday Course timetable for courses running during school breaks. Holiday Courses are open to all, whether or not you regularly attend gym.

To Start Gymnastics at Englishcombe Court you will need to attend Gym start.

Alongside our School-Aged Gymnastics lessons running at Englishcombe Court, we also run three Satellite Centres at Oldfield School, Monkton Prep School and Broadlands Academy, which cater for children in their local communities. They are equipped with vault, trampet, bars, beam and more. These Satellite Centres are run by our qualified coaches and the gymnasts work progressively towards the British Gymnastics Award Badges as well as developing their skills on apparatus.

This class timetable applies during term time only. Check our Holiday Course timetable for courses running during school breaks. Holiday Courses are open to all, whether or not you regularly attend gym.

To Start Gymnastics at one of our Satellite Centres ring 01225 330001 to book a £10.00 try-out session. Following the try-out session, if your child would like to continue at this class, you can call to book for the remainder of the term.

Prices and further information

Classes cost £68.00 at Englishcombe Court and £65.00 at Satellite Centres, for a 10-week term of 60-minute classes. You must pay the annual British Gymnastics membership and insurance to use our gym. You can do this on their website here: British Gymnastics Membership

We also have advanced classes which give your child the chance to train to competition standards and compete across the UK. Our Elite, Development, and Competition Squads regularly enter competitions at club, local, regional and national levels. You can find out more here.

Pre-School Gymnastics If your child hasn’t started school yet, please see our Pre-School Gymnastics page for more information on age-appropriate classes. We run gymnastics drop-in and pre-bookable classes from 18 months to Reception.
FreeG (Freestyle Gymnastics) classes are very popular as well as a key component of Baskervilles’ offering, and we run a number of weekly classes at Englishcombe Court and our Satellite centres. You can find out more about FreeG here.
Family Gym We run Family Gym sessions where parents and children, 3+ years, can enjoy a gymnastics session together. These are drop-in sessions with no need to book. To find out more or when our next session is, please visit the Family Gym page.
Competitions We run an annual club competition in March at Englishcombe Court. Gymnasts will receive an email to see if they want to participate in this voluntary event and if so will practise routines in their classes from January.

British Gymnastics Award Badges In our structured and pre-programmed classes, gymnasts work progressively towards their British Gymnastics Award Badges. We badge test twice a year in School-Aged classes. If children are interested in completing more badges then they can come to one of our Badge Day Holiday Courses that offer intensive training, during which gymnasts are taught skills towards their British Gymnastics Awards, before being tested.
